Welcome to the wild!

It’s been a while since Cebu has experienced a tourist attraction that has gotten the locals in a frenzy. Cebuanos have known for a long time of the rumored safari up the mountains of Carmen. When the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park finally opened its doors to the public, the people came in droves.

We were excited to finally get the chance to visit it on a Sunday. A drive to Carmen, a town an hour and half away from the city is where you’ll find Cebu Safari and Adventure Park.

Cebu Safari and Adventure Park is 170 hectares, has about 111 species and over a thousand animals living in the property.  It’s still on its soft opening so a bit of construction is dotted around the property and a few attractions are still closed off to visitors. Despite that, the place looks very promising and it’s a lot more interactive than most other zoos I’ve visited. We paid 800/person and it came with a buffet lunch. Expect the price to change once it’s fully operating.

When we arrived, the first animal that greeted us was this Eagle.

Kids got a chance to ride this little guy.

First real animal stop were to these alligators.

A glimpse at the safari experience. We were on trucks while driving through this area.

As expected, there were some parts that were under construction.

Saw the cheetahs up close.

Cute turtles!

This was the view from where we ate lunch.

Right beside our eating area was a mob of meerkats.

You could feed the Blue and yellow Macaw.

So many animals were within arms reach.

Even these giant rodents.

I wish we took a video of these guys. They were running around all over the place.

These tigers were beautiful.
