Star Cruises

Cruising always fascinated me – the exotic stops, the exciting facilities, the live entertainment, the yummy food and the view of the endless horizon.

When a friend went on a cruise, I asked her to tell me everything. I wanted to hear about her experience.

She took Star Cruises, the leading cruise line in the Asia-Pacific. Here’s a glimpse of what they call The 5- Star Floating Hotel:

The Ship

Star Cruises has 5 mega-ships that sails within the Southeast Asian coasts. The ships are all named after zodiac signs: Super Star Virgo, Super Star Libra, Super Star Gemini, Super Star Aquarius and Star Pisces.

Aside for having different names, these ships differ based on its routes and itineraries.

Super Star Virgo sails from Singapore to Penang and Melacca, Malaysia and then Phuket, Thailand.

Super Star Libra sails from Penang, Malaysia to Phuket and Krabi, Thailand.

Super Star Gemini sails from Sanya, China to Halong Bay and Danang, Vietnam.

Super Star Aquarius sails around Brunei.

Star Pisces sails from Hong Kong to South China Sea.

These destinations are the ports-of-call where you can enjoy a shore excursion. This allows you to grab that opportunity to discover the rich and diverse culture of each region. You can also shop and dine inside famous restaurants and malls.

Facilities and Activities

Adults can party all night with the on-board disco or chill at the bar with a live band. They also have karaoke for groups so you can sing your heart out. The salon will keep the ladies busy. The fitness gym to stay in shape away from home. Mini-golf, a basketball court and other outdoor activities for those looking to have a little fun. You can even try your luck at the inviting gaming casino. Kids will love it here. They can play at the video arcade or at the fun pool. Of course, you can always sit back, relax, grab a drink and listen to the water as the ship calmly cuts through.

Dining

There are about 10 restaurants on-board with different types of cuisine. Generally you can find French, Italian, Asian, Indian/Halal, Chinese and American cuisines. This is sure to sooth all sorts of palates.

During the last night of the trip, there’s a big celebration called Captain’s Night or Gala Night. Everyone is invited and required to wear formal attire. So don’t forget to save your best gowns and tuxedos.

Accommodation

The rooms are designed to make you feel at home; comfy, pleasant, clean and organized. The room on-board will give you total relaxation.

Cruising is perfect for getting off the grid and taking a break from their busy schedule. It generally has something for everyone. Honeymooners can expect a romantic experience like no other and families will find all sorts of things to do with their kids.

The ideal mix of fun, excitement and relaxation will become one of your best memories. Bon voyage!
