5 Weird Worldly Restaurants

The world is a big S-T-R-A-N-G-E place. If you consider yourself well-traveled because you’ve seen the Mona Lisa, the Colosseum, the Grand Canyon, Angkor Wat and whatever mainstream attractions out there, you haven’t seen it all.

Which brings me to strange things…

Businesses all around the world feel that competition is stiff nowadays. The only chance many businesses have is to stand out from the crowd. There’s this idea of the odder the better.

You might be wondering what I am talking about. There are some restaurants in the world that are incredible AND ridiculous. Here are some of the weirdest.

Chodovar Beer Spa

Chodovar is a brewery complex in the Czech Republic that offers beer spa treatment. They will let you soak in a bath tub full of dark beer with a mixture of warm mineral water. Immersing your body promises to refurbish your liver! The best part is that while undergoing the treatment, an attentive staff serves an unpasteurized beer to drink that is said to improve digestion.

Afterwards, you can visit the nearby restaurants. They serves sumptuous beer food. Meaning beer is added to the meal to make it more flavorful. Yummy. Beer. Burp.

Optional Clothing Dinners

Dare not. This event will put you naked. Would you dare to eat nude? For some it doesn’t seem to matter. In Manhattan, New York City, a nudist activist created this social event where people gather to eat naked once a month.

As diners enter, they take off their clothes and carry themselves normally. No malice at all. They just need to bring their own towel to serve as a seat cover. If you are the type to worry about what to wear for a dinner date, worry no more! Just suggest this place to your date. Just kidding!

Modern Toilet

Would you believe that a restaurant that makes you eat from toilet bowls is well loved by many people? Modern Toilet has twelve restaurants around Taiwan and is planning to branch out in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

The bathroom-themed restaurant uses miniature toilets, bathroom sinks, bath tubs and the like. These replace what we usually use as silverware.

Alice in Wonderland Theme Restaurant

We’ve read the books and watched the movie. Wonderland truly was a magical place. Remember what Alice encountered in her journey? The play card soldiers, the huge books, the rude queen of hearts, the unending maze. These were all imitated by the Alice in Wonderland Theme Restaurant in Tokyo, Japan.

Playing card dining tables, a magic forest, heart-shaped chandeliers, a giant teapot, the eclectic colors all captivate your eyes. The waitresses even dress like Alice.

Ithaa

Many of us have eaten in floating restaurants and they are great dining experiences. But how much better would it be to dine underwater? Now that would be incredible. In the Maldives, sixteen feet below the pristine waters is the first ever undersea restaurant.

The underwater panoramic view adds to your superb dining experience. They also cater private parties and weddings. Awesome!
