Because of technology and globalization, it’s easier to travel now more than ever. With a few clicks on our smartphones, we could be flying half way across the world by the end of the day ready to experience a different cuisine and culture. It’s amazing how this makes the world smaller and makes us feel more connected to each other, but we forget that this also comes at a price that our earth has to pay. Now more than ever, it’s important to travel responsibly. It will take a bit of effort at first, but this will enhance your trip and soon enough become second nature.
Here are 5 Tips to Responsible Travel:

2. Bring a reusable water bottle with you
Lessen your trash when travelling by bringing reusable containers like a water bottle and refilling instead of buying plastic bottled water every time you go and explore.
3. Choose environmentally friendly accommodations
Many resorts and hotels don’t take into consideration the plants they destroy and the wildlife they displace. Here’s a list of green accommodations you can start with.

4. Leave a light footprint
The small stuff matters. Here are a few examples, don’t leave the air-conditioning on when you go out to keep your room cool, take shorter showers, reuse towels, and turn off the lights when not in use, use public transport, bike and walk.
All these small steps are good for the environment, but many of them also provide a unique kind of travel experience.
