5 Best Barkada Trips in the Philippines
written on June 21st, 2017 by Kristiana Rule
There are trips that are meant to be taken alone and there are those that are meant to be taken with friends. These are the destinations where you should bring your friends with you. You could go alone, but it wouldn’t be as fun and it would cost a lot.
Here are 5 of the best adventures you can have with your crew.
Masungi Georeserve
This destination has been making its rounds all over social media and it’s absolutely gorgeous. If you and your friends love adventure, then this georeserve located in the mountains of Rizal is for you. Take on their Discovery Trail and re-energize yourself with nature’s beauty. The sprawling conservation area features rock formations, peaks and stunning views of the surrounding natural wonders. Literally hang out at their hanging bridge, or take barkada photos at the famous Sapot— a web-like structure— all within the park.
Inflatable Island
Dubbed as the biggest floating playground in Asia, Inflatable Island is your childhood fantasy come to life. This massive inflatable playground is located just off of Samba beach in Olongapo. Come with your entire barkada and have a day of splashing, sliding and getting wiped out of their floating playground, just like you would in those crazy obstacle courses you see on TV. There’s giant slides, slippery bridges and trampolines that both kids and kids at heart can enjoy.
Mt Pinatubo Trail
Take on one of the country’s best vistas with your barkada. Mt Pinatubo and its surrounding area is starkly stunning and oddly eerie in some parts. You’ll traverse the moon-like terrain of Crow Valley on a 4×4 en route to the hike to Crater Lake. The volcanic crater itself is clear blue, flanked by peaks all around. The whole guided trek would cost a small fortune when done alone, so better grab your friends to take on the trail with you and enjoy this adventure together.
Sinulog Festival
Do you guys love culture and parties? You really don’t have to choose between the two. Just come to Cebu on the 3rd Sunday of January and all your vacation needs will be solved by the Sinulog festival. This is the country’s biggest street party and cultural celebration all rolled into one. You can pray and join the novena and religious procession celebrating the Sto. Nino, or join the revelry in the streets and shout Pit Senyor along with the locals and tourists who flock the Queen City of the South for this celebration.
Apo Island
Negros Oriental’s treasure is best shared with your friends. Head on out to Apo Island for the best ocean adventure and swim with the sea turtles that are found in the area. Boat and guide fees can also cost you if you’re traveling solo, so better travel with the barkada to divvy up the cost. Once you’re there you can enjoy the wonderful scenery and rock formations, the beautiful beach and of course the sea turtles!
